From Contractor to Broker: A Different Kind of Builder
Before real estate, Doug Ranger spent years in the electrical contracting trade. He built things with his hands, solved problems on job sites, and learned the value of honest, reliable work. But it was a growing interest in real estate and a desire to help people on a more personal level that led him to get licensed in 1997.
What started as a career change became a calling. Early in his practice, Doug found himself drawn to clients who needed more than just a transaction. Families dealing with foreclosures, seniors looking to downsize, executors managing an estate after a loss. These are the clients who need the most guidance, and Doug realized he could make the biggest difference for them.
He went on to earn his Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designation, giving him the specialized knowledge to help homeowners explore alternatives to foreclosure. He deepened his expertise in probate and trust sales, working closely with attorneys, financial advisors, and families throughout Ventura County and Southern California.
Today, as Broker/Owner of Ranger Realty, Doug combines personalized service with advanced digital and AI-driven marketing to maximize exposure for every property. But the core of his practice remains the same: educate first, provide options second, and help people make confident decisions during life's most meaningful transitions.
